The Gold of Lithuania
For more than forty million years, the Baltic Sea has been giving back its golden tears. Grandfather Hubertas walked that shore his whole life — patient hands, cold mornings — gathering small stones the world had forgotten.

“One day, I will be known.”
“One day, I will be famous,” he said — with cold hands and a warm heart — as he pressed a small piece of amber into mine. I kept that little heart in my pocket, and carried his dream with me.

After a long path of devotion and quiet, hard work, I was able to give that small piece of amber a new life — and to honour the work my grandfather did with his hands.
